Introducing C1’s Advanced Microsoft Teams Integration: Identity Security Where Your Team Works

Secure access should be seamless. The best security controls are the ones people actually use, and that means meeting employees in the collaboration tools they rely on every day.

That’s why we are excited to introduce our advanced Microsoft Teams integration and support, enabling end users to interact with C1 directly inside Teams.

This launch makes C1 even easier to adopt across organizations that run on Microsoft 365. Review tasks, access requests, and approvals now flow through Teams, helping security and IT teams drive better controls without slowing productivity.

Why bring C1 to Teams?#

Every tool added to a company’s tech stack creates cognitive load. Even with streamlined workflows, switching context between platforms takes time and reduces adoption.

Many of our customers rely on Microsoft Teams as their primary internal communication hub. Bringing C1 directly into Teams with advanced capabilities ensures people stay productive and compliant without breaking their rhythm. And by moving common IAM tasks like access requests, approvals, and review reminders into Teams, organizations can take meaningful load off the helpdesk. Users no longer need to open tickets or chase IT for routine access needs. Everything happens where they already are.

With this launch, Teams users can:

  • Receive C1 notifications about request tasks
  • Approve or deny access requests in teams
  • Get alerted when access is assigned or needed
  • Automatically distribute digest messages about expiring access, review campaigns, and more

And shortly, Teams users will be able to make access requests, automatically join dedicated Teams channels created for access review coordination, and receive reminders about open review and request tasks.

In addition, admins can get alerts through Teams when there are issues with C1 or connectors.

Turning identity security into part of the everyday workflow#

Identity security can only scale when it becomes frictionless. By embedding C1 into the daily communication flow, employees can complete reviews and respond to access needs faster and with less context switching.

This improves security outcomes in three key ways:

  • Improves adoption by meeting users where they already work
  • Speeds up access decisions and review cycles
  • Reduces friction for end users and managers involved in access governance

Security leaders get stronger control coverage, and employees can stay focused on what actually matters. Everyone wins!

How this fits into the C1 platform vision#

C1 is built to be the most extensible identity security platform. Our philosophy is simple: customers should be able to integrate secure access workflows into the systems they already trust and use.

This advanced Microsoft Teams integration extends the power of C1 beyond the web app, joining our Slack integration and API-first approach to bring automation and access control into the daily flow of work.
